This new and exciting service is the only truly global, handheld, Satellite Radio Communications system covering pole to pole, from desert to sea. With Iridium’s network of 66 Low Earth Orbiting satellites, it means that secure communications have never been simpler. There is no requirement for ground infrastructure and the transmission is relayed to the satellite network and routed to the correct talk groups and geographical areas. PTT is flexible, configurable on the fly and the ability to rapidly change the network to allow more users or organisations to share the network.

The Iridium® PTT is not just a radio, at the flick of a button, it reverts to a normal Satellite phone, allowing for normal functionality that you would expect of handset, to make and receive calls to and from, landlines, mobiles and other satellite users.

Let’s talk ‘talkgroups’

With Iridium Push-to-Talk, you decide how many talkgroups you need and how many devices are provisioned in each. In any talkgroup, you can define up to 10 service areas located across the globe, connecting those both close and far away. Iridium Push-to-Talk is also interoperable, allowing different entities to communicate on an as-needed basis.
