Iridium 9555 and 9575 Extreme and 9575 PTT Firmware Updates

Iridium have announced firmware updates for the Iridium 9555, 9575 Extreme and 9575 PTT handheld satellite phones.

The 9555 update includes the following:

Leveraged enhancements offered by the Iridium NEXT constellation to improve network connectivity and improve reception of transceiver ring notifications from the core network.
Resolved an issue wherein when the user attempted to enter the SMS menu when the outbox on the SIM was full the handset would reboot.
Fixed an issue preventing display of predictive help content.
Corrected an issue preventing display of firmware version in French.
Updated Iridium branding content in Upgrade Tool.

The 9575 Extreme and PTT updates includes the following:

Leveraged enhancements offered by the Iridium NEXT constellation to improve network connectivity and improve reception of transceiver ring notifications from the core network.
Updated the Iridium branding content in Upgrade Tool with new graphics
Fixed an issue preventing display of predictive help content.
Corrected an issue preventing display of firmware version in French.

Whist your satellite phone will continue to operate without these updates it is strongly recommended that you do update your firmware.
