Arctic Alone – The History Channel

At G-Comm Towers, we are regular watchers of the History Channel’s excellent Alone Survival series, and we are really enjoying the current season – Arctic Alone.

For those of you who haven’t seen the show 10 volunteers (7 paired teams in season 4) are shipped out to somewhere really isolated where they are completely abandoned and left with just 10 essential items and an Iridium Extreme satellite phone to survive as best they can.

The last person standing wins a cool $500,000 USD

The Iridium Extreme satellite phone is the contestants only means of calling for help and “tapping out” when things get to much (or they have managed to injure themselves).

It says a lot that the production team (and contestants) of the show place 100% trust in the Iridium Extreme satellite phone as the only means of communication the contestants have.
